October, 1993, was the beginning of a 16-month festival of cultural, historical, educational and entertaining events celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Jewish Community of Milwaukee. Included among the many sesquicentennial events was a reunion of campers and staff of both the Jewish Outing Society's Fresh Air Camp and Camp Sidney Cohen and of members of the Settlement Cookbook Board. Former campers and staff joined together with Board members to celebrate their 88 year-old partnership with the Jewish Community and to honor its members for their commitment to a better life for underprivileged children.
The celebration, sponsored by the Children's Outing Association (COA Youth & Family Centers), was held at Boder's on the River, the former site of the original Fresh Air Camp.
