The Jewish Museum Milwaukee is grateful to Congregation Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun for sharing its marriage records. We are also in the process of cataloging the rest of Emanu-El's materials. This important collection includes papers of several former rabbis, bulletins, newspaper clippings, confirmation photographs and many other documents. Please contact our archivist (archives@jewishmuseummilwaukee.org) for further information about this collection.
The Swichkow family has generously donated the marriage records of Rabbi Swichkow. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Rabbi Louis J. Swichkow served as spiritual leader of Beth El Ner Tamid Synagogue of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After forty-eight years in that congregation, he became Rabbi Emeritus.
